Christian Simmons is a financial writer and Certified Educator in Personal Finance who has worked professionally as a journalist since 2016. His work has appeared in the Dallas Morning News, New Orleans Advocate, Baltimore Sun, South Florida Sun Sentinel and Orlando Sentinel, among other publications.

Since joining Annuity.org, Christian has worked on numerous projects to inform readers on important personal finance topics and help them to better understand and achieve financial freedom.

He authored Annuity.org’s guide on Financial Literacy in the Latinx Community, a major resource on the state of Latinx finances in the United States.

His other major projects include an all-encompassing guide on financial abuse and a comprehensive breakdown of the use of annuities in sports.

Christian is a Certified Educator in Personal Finance, a member of the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing and a former member of the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning and the Society of Professional Journalists.

Before joining Annuity.org, Christian had most recently worked at the South Florida Sun Sentinel and United Way Worldwide.

Christian also spent time with the Orlando Sentinel, where he covered the financial disparities between men’s and women’s soccer and how differences in compensation were impacting athletes’ decisions to retire.

At United Way, he outlined and implemented plans for current and retired NFL players to help them leverage their wealth in their communities by engaging with local United Way chapters.

He has also previously worked in both TV and radio at Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG-TV and NPR affiliate WMFE-FM.

Christian graduated from the University of Central Florida Burnett Honors College, earning his degree in journalism. He later returned to UCF to earn a master’s degree in integrated business.
